Robots

“Robots, Toys and Dolls” are windows to memories of both childhood and history. A large part of this series focuses on the toys and robots of the 1950’s and 60’s. It was a time of challenge and potential: the space race and the rise of technology promised infinite possibilities, as the world emerged from the shadows of the Second World War. Many of the robot paintings are inspired by actual robots of the 1950’s, which were made in Japan by the survivors of WWII, for the delight of American children. “Robots, Toys and Dolls” are colorful, happy, and playful paintings that depict with innocent world of robots and toys of the 1960’s.
